Common mistakes in Regulations & Airspace
- Applying Class G DAY minimums (1 SM, clear of clouds) at NIGHT — night is 3 SM + 500/1000/2000
- Thinking Class B needs 500/1000/2000 cloud clearance — it's CLEAR OF CLOUDS
- Confusing 'clearance into Class C' — you only need two-way radio contact ESTABLISHED, not a clearance (clearance is Class B)
- Believing the night currency window is 'sunset to sunrise' — it's 1 hour AFTER sunset to 1 hour BEFORE sunrise
- Forgetting night currency requires FULL-STOP landings
- Using the airman's CURRENT age for medical duration — it's age at the DATE OF EXAM
- Thinking the 100-hour inspection applies to all aircraft — only for-hire / instruction-for-hire
- Confusing fuel reserve 'to destination' vs 'to first point of intended landing + 30/45 min'
